Sail along the coast of Los Gigantes for an incredible sunset charter in Tenerife and enjoy the calm atmosphere with magnificent views of the cliffs and nature.
This is a different charter. We don’t focus so much on whale watching and more on enjoying the views along our cliffs.
We sail along the coast of Los Gigantes for two hours (*length of the charter depends on sunset times) in a calm atmosphere. During our charter you will enjoy the views, with drinks, fruits and snacks offered on board and we will stop for a short swim. Finally ending the trip with the sunset.
In the sunset charters, due to the lack of light and the increase of activity in the whales (they are most of the time underwater), it’s more complicated to spot them.
Although we always try. If you wish to have more chances see these beautiful animals we recommend the daily charters as you will have better chances.
We are a Blue Boat
Our boat Mugen, company and staff have the permits and training necessary for whale watching in Tenerife, including the Blue Flag (required by the Canarian Government), and most important the MITECO – AROC, permission from the government of Spain. For instance many boats in the island work illegally. In conclusion please do not support them.

Our sunset charter in Tenerife trip itinerary
A detailed explanation of what you can expect in our sunset charter
Trip Description
Firstly we depart from the harbour of Los Gigantes in our sailboat Mugen. Straightaway we sail along the cliffs of Los Gigantes to admire there beauty and if there’s cetaceans close by we will try to see them. Secondly we will search for a calm cove along the cliffs to have a swim and serve our fruits and snacks.
Later we will enjoy the sunset and head back to the harbour ending the trip. If the wind conditions are good we will use the sails (not common in the south of Tenerife).
The trip is two/three hours long (length of the charter depends on sunset times).

What can we see in our Sunset Charter in Tenerife?

In our sunset charters we can occasionally find groups of bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and sometimes rarely short fin pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) both residents around the waters of Tenerife. There is also the possibility to find turtles, the most common species are the loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) and the green turtle (Chelonia mydas).
In the sunset charters, due to the lack of light and the increased activity of our cetaceans (they are most of the time underwater), it’s more complicated to spot them. If you would like a more focused whale watching trip check our Shared Whale Watching in Tenerife Trip.
We never guarantee whale sightings (specially in our sunset charters) because they are wild animals in their habitat, and many factors can affect their normal behaviour. All in all the south of Tenerife is considered one of the best places of the world to see dolphins and pilot whales. It’s very strange to finish a charter without any sightings at all.
Enjoy the views!!!
