Our 14 metre sailing boat “Mugen” is fully equipped, together with very spacious, and comfortable, perfect for private groups. Firstly the goal of the trip is to enjoy the boat, the views, the privacy, the explanations from the crew and the wildlife of Tenerife.
The possibility of a successful private whale watching charter is very high, in order to 95% of the trips we see whales and or dolphins.
We never guarantee whale watching, because they are wild animals in their habitat and many factors can modify their normal behavior.
Altogether we can observe whale and dolphins all year round. More than 21 different cetacean species visit the island of Tenerife, considered one of the best places in the world for whale watching. Eventually with luck, we can get to see different species on the same trip.
We are a Blue Boat
Our boat Mugen, company and staff have the permits and training necessary for whale watching in Tenerife, including the Blue Flag (required by the Canarian Government), and most important the MITECO – AROC, permission from the government of Spain. For instance many boats in the island work illegally. In conclusion please do not support them.

A detailed explanation of what you can expect in your private whale watching charter.
Private whale watching charter description
Firstly we leave from the harbour of Los Gigantes for our three hours long whale watching trip. Following we head to find dolphins and whales, if the wind conditions are good we will use the sails (not common in the south of Tenerife).
Secondly after the whale watching we will make a stop in a beautiful small bay of Los Gigantes to go snorkeling or swimming. Additionally we will have some fresh fruit and a tapas style meal with different Spanish and local products (vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available)with drinks onboard (cava, wine, beer, soft drinks and juices).
Thirdly after the stop we will return to the port enjoying the great views of the cliffs of Los Gigantes.

In our daily charters we normally find groups of bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and short fin pilot whales (Globicephala macrorhynchus) both residents around the waters of Tenerife. There is also the possibility to find turtles, the most common species are the loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) and the green turtle (Chelonia mydas).
With a bit of luck, we can see other species of dolphins and the beautiful finback whale. Occasionally we sight sperm whales, mantas, tunas, humpback whales and the shy beaked whales.
We never guarantee whale sightings because they are wild animals in their habitat, and many factors can affect their normal behaviour. All in all the south of Tenerife is considered one of the best places of the world to see dolphins and pilot whales. It’s very strange to finish a charter without any sightings at all.

What’s included
We have a wide variety of drinks onboard (cava, wine, beer, soft drinks and juices).
We do offer snorkeling gear (mask and snorkel, no fins), but if you please, feel free to bring your own gear on board.
At the end of the swim you can enjoy our tapas style lunch made on board with vegetarian, vegan, lactose and gluten-free options.
